In computer system , hardware refers to the machines themselves as opposed to the programs which tell the machines what to do. computer hardware is the physical parts of the computer like mouse , keyboard ,hard disk drive, optical disc motherboard ,drive, power supply ,storage and even monitor etc . computer hardware are items of computer which can be touched. In difference, software is the set of instructions that can be stored and run by hardware.

 Different systems

 There are many species of computer systems which are used today.

personal computer : personal computer is called as the pc and it is one of the common type of computer due to its versatility and relatively low price.

 Case: The computer case is metal or plastic corral that houses most of the elements. Those found on desktop computers are generally small enough to fit under a desk, however in recent years more compact designs have become more common place, like the all-in-one style designs from namely the iMac, Apple.

 power supply : power supply are unit converts alternating current (ac) electric power into low-voltage DC power for computer elements . Laptops are able of running from a built-in battery,usually for a period of hours.

 Motherboard: In a computer, the motherboard is the main electronic circuit board to which the microchips that perform important functions are attached. motherboard is the main component of computer.

 Expansion cards:An expansion is a printed circuit board in computing that can be placed into an expansion slot of a computer motherboard to add functionality to a computer system via the expansion bus.

 storage devices: storage devices are the storage components of computer which stores the data like memory cards. storage devices are called as memory.

 Departmental computing

In the 1960s and 1970s more sections started to use cheaper and dedicated systems for specific purposes like process control and laboratory automation.
